El logo representa a un personaje de una pintura conocida popularmente como El Caballero sonrriente de Frans Hals. Es la marca de cerveza más popular en Escocia. 

Durante la década de 1980 y 1990, McEwans fué una marca muy activa en el patrocinio deportivo, seis clubs de fútbol y de un equipo de Rugby League: St. Helens RLFC http://www.saintsrlfc.com/ y, por supuesto, The Mcewans National League and Inter District Championship. Dejó constancia de ese apoyo en alguno de sus posavasos.

McEwan's http://www.mcewans.co.uk/home.php is a brand of ales, with the draught beers brewed at the Caledonian Brewery in Edinbourgh, Scotland and the canned and bottled beers brewed at the Eagle Brewery, Bedford, England. It is now owned by Wells & Youngs http://www.wellsandyoungs.co.uk/ following the sale of the brands by Heineken in 2011. Its logo depicts a character from a Frans Hals painting known popularly as The Laughing Cavalier. It is the most popular ale brand in Scotland.

During the 1980s and 1990s, McEwans was a very active brand in sports sponsorship, six clubs of football and a team of Rugby League: St Helens RLFC http://www.saintsrlfc.com/ and, of course, The Mcewans National League and Inter District Championship. He expressed this support in any of their beermats.
